It’s rare that it rains during a portrait session, but that’s exactly what it did for this portrait session!  But were we fazed?…of course not!  This was a great Family Portrait in Bearsted!

We ventured out with Mum, Dad, Alfie and Boris the Beagle.  (and a couple of umbrellas!) to Bearsted and got these fabulous photos.

Bearsted is just outside of Maidstone and is a great place for location portrait sessions.  Also, it’s just down the road from Leeds Castle!

It’s always cool to photograph people with a really distinct style.  These two rocking the indie look brilliantly!  The sun was fast disappearing over the North Downs so we had to work fast before it was pitch black!

It’s always fun to work with a bit of off-camera flash and it’s a technique which can be really tricky to get right, but here I think we all nailed it…great posing, great style and of course great photos! (well, we like to think so anyway!)

Wow was this a hot session!…temperatures well into the mid 20′s and blazing sunshine.  What better way to celebrate the sun then to visit the location that thrives on the day long summer sun…the Kits Coty Vineyard at Aylesford!  A few poppies decided to show their faces and delightfully show off their red petals in the photos.

Jude’s Mum used to be a professional photographer so she knew her stuff and was up for the challenge of the short uphill walk to the vineyard – usually an easy stroll, but not so easy in the heat!  But it was all well worth the effort as you can see in the photos!

After the vineyard we walked down to the cornfield and captured some fabulous photos there to round off a great portrait session!

oh and a little known fact – the grapes from this Vineyard created the wine for Will and Kate’s Royal wedding!

With this sunny weather we’ve had it’s been a great time to photograph families in the park.   We photographed Mia at Mote Park the other day!  It was a beautiful day and we captured some equally beautiful photos!  Mum, Dad and Mia really got into the spirit of things and spent an hour running, ticking and chasing around Mote Park.

Mia was a little shy to start but that meant we could capture lots of different expressions and emotions.  What a star she was and what stunning photos she helped us create!

The sun was shining at Cobtree Manor Park in Aylesford the other day which made for a beautiful morning creating some stunning portraits of Aaron, Samuel and Mum and Dad!

Lots of running, jumping, tickling and general humorous antics ensued with these two cheeky chaps!  Ok, so I may have been a contributing factor in getting them to be slightly mischievous  but what brilliant photos we got!

Running in amongst the trees, tickling Mum and Dad and high flying jumps off the logs – not to mention the occasional happy greeting by a few of the dogs in the park – were a sure bet for some fabulous photos! (a few of which you can see below!)

Back home in time for lunch so Aaron could see his favourite driver, Lewis Hamilton win on the Nurburgring! (And Cavendish to win in Paris!)

We like to do things a little differently.  No standard 2 light setup, no cheesy ‘circular hole in the studio wall’ shots and definitely no boring  white studios!  We shoot all outside using natural light and camera flash to create shoots that flow beautifully producing stunning photos that are different and stylish.

So the Summer is here and with it the rain!  After a scorching Spring in Kent we’ve been drenched in what seems like April Showers…in June!  So when I arrived at Zachary and Francesca’s pad for their home portrait session in Gravesend under very dark clouds and a hint of rain (understatement of the year) we had to have a cup of tea before the clouds parted and we were gifted with some sunshine! (oh, and enough light to actually photograph without resorting to 3200ISO!)

We’ve been photographing Francesca since she was a newborn!  And now she’s growing up!…You can see a couple of photos from her 6 month shoot here

Anyway, Zachary has just been getting over his chicken pox and he did give us a few smiles along with some priceless scrunched up ‘IM NOT HAPPY’ faces!  Francesca was, as always fabulous to photograph.  There are loads from this session, but I thought I’d share a few on the blog for you
